June 2024 – September 2025Analyzed and investigated impacts of Trump administration policies on fair, affordable, and public housing programs in HUD and on nonprofits handling housing discrimination claims, published in Mother Jones.
Developed, reported, researched, and wrote two in-depth investigations on maintenance processes in D.C.’s public housing and on unpaid housing code violation fines in the District, published in Washington City Paper.
Analyzed data in Excel and used visualization tools to effectively convey complex quantitative information.
Interviewed public housing residents around the District to convey the human experiences behind my reporting.
ProPublica — Medill Investigative Lab Writer | Washington, D.C.
January 2025 – August 2025Worked alongside ProPublica reporter Debbie Cenziper and a team of other Northwestern students to report and write investigative articles regarding the FDA’s lack of enforcement of quality standards for generic drugs.
Reported on impacts of layoffs in the FDA under DOGE on drug safety and quality, especially overseas inspections and a loss of support staff in offices.
Assisting in summer 2025 in covering follow-up responses on Capitol Hill and the White House and collecting tips from external sources following the publication of ProPublica’s major investigation on generic drug quality.

January 2025 – June 2025Analyzed State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds data to file dozens of records requests regarding the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding within the state of Illinois, Cook County and the city of Chicago.
Organized returns of FOIA requests to find important takeaways to report out further and communicated with FOIA officers to find further details of financial and performance metrics for specific ARPA-funded programs.

Pitched, planned, and executed a multi-part enterprise series highlighting the experiences and challenges of LGBTQ+ journalists worldwide, featuring journalists from Belarus, Ethiopia and Colombia, among others.
